Getting your dreamweaver page online?

How do I transfer a page I created on Dreamweaver 8 online? I already have a host and domain... now what? Where is the option that allows me to put my domain in Dreamweaver created page so my domain now displays my created Dreamweaver page?

Thanks.

You need to get the specifics for FTP for your hosting account.

Typically, the address of the FTP server will be the same as your domain name. Or it might have %26quot;ftp%26quot; in the front, like this...

ftp.example.com

Your log-in username for your FTP account MAY be the same as your main username for the hosting account, but it might be different... most hosting companies allow you to assign multiple FTP accounts.

In Dreamweaver, you need to

(1) define a site with the Manage Sites feature, if you have not already, and

(2) enter the specifications for the Remote Site as FTP, and enter your log-in info there.

One of the advantages of using Dreamweaver%26#039;s built-in FTP instead of a separate FTP program is the synchronization feature... you%26#039;re web site might have hundreds of files... but during one session, you might edit, say, a dozen files.

When you use the synchronize command, Dreamweaver will automatically check the dates on the remote files, and upload only those files that have changed.

What you will need to do is get an

FTP CLIENT

File Transfer Protocol Client.

This will allow you to connect to your web hosting service and upload the files you have created using dreamweaver..

Other Replys:Download an FTP client such as FileZilla, type in your FTP login details into FileZilla and then upload your pages into your main directory - remember to call your homepage %26quot;index.html%26quot; or %26quot;index.php%26quot; etc. You can find more details on website publishing at www.compcentral.net

Other Replys:It depends on your host, but the sure fire way is to FTP the files to the host. The only concern is if you have used Dreamweaver extensions, is that the Host also have the extensions available. If not, then you may need to redesign or move host.
