Is it possible to host more than one website on single host IP?

Hi,

Can i host two different websites having different domain names to run from a single host? for example I make two different folders in www root A and b.

Now www.A.com point to my folder A and www.b.com.

User will not know that its all running through same hosting place. That way it will be easier to manage all websites at a single place.

Please help me.

Is it possible to host more than one website on single host IP?

using IIS you simply specify a Host Header Name in the properties dialog of the website. on the Web Site tab click Advanced, and add host header names for each site. i recommend adding at least two entries for each. the domain name alone and the www.domain name. be sure to use TCP port 80 for all standard web sites.

using Apache, or some other Unix based web server... um, yeah, not sure, but i would suspect that it also handles host names.

It%26#039;s called virtual hosting. You have to configure your web server to do this. Go to the documentation of your web server software and look it up.

Other Replys:Are you hosting on your own machine, or in a shared hosting environment.

Any web host that gives you a cPanel web interface to your hosting account has the potential of giving you multiple domains, with each domain assigned to it%26#039;s own sub-folder as it%26#039;s %26quot;root%26quot;. On some systems these are called %26quot;Parked%26quot; domains.

For example, if you have a HostGator account, you get unlimited domains, and unlimited subdomains.

Domains you still have to register (and pay for) but subdomains are free.
